This is a good bagel shop. Good flavors, good cream cheese, decent prices that are in keeping with the surrounding area. I've had better in Ann Arbor, but unless I'm getting these out the door in NYC, I'm pretty sure we can only expect a 4 at our best. I would give Panera Bread a 1 for their bagels so 3 is good here.

I used to work at Kohl’s and ate at Detroit Bagel all the time. Now, my husband and I live in the Philippines. The FIRST place we ate at upon returning to Detroit in May 2026 was at Detroit Bagel in Livonia (in Livonia). After a long flight and early morning arrival, we could not wait to enjoy their hot bagel sandwiches for breakfast. Plus, grabbing a dozen bagels and a t-shirt helped us share our love with others! Despite a hectic schedule of visiting family and friends, we made sure we stopped by before we headed back to Manila. There is no place that has better bagels, cream cheese, bagel sandwiches, or muffins. Everything is fresh and insanely delicious! (*Pictured: Egg, Cheese, & Sausage on Asiago Bagel, Egg, Cheese, & Bacon on Mozzarella Bagel, Egg, Cheese, & Ham on Asiago Bagel, Jewish Sandwich ~ a MUST TRY!!!, Banana Chocolate Chip Muffin, Blueberry Muffin) We loved meeting the owner, Norma! I went to a brunch and they had Detroit Bagel Factory bagels and cream cheese. The bagels were probably some of the best I have had. I couldn’t get over how good the cream cheese was. Flavorful, creamy and the perfect bagel pair.

Literally 40 years between visits. We moved from Michigan when i was 6,I still remember the Salt sticks from this exact spot! Was back for a business training! Thank you for still being around and having great bagels!

My husband drives to Michigan occasionally for work from Indiana. He stopped in once to bring us home some bagels and cream cheese and now he goes back every time he’s there’s Bagels are fresh and I am a native New Yorker and I’m so happy I can have something that feels close to home. They are fluffy and flavorful and please please try their homemade cream cheese! We live for the onion and garlic one!! It’s sooooo good! Prices are fair as well.
